friends.nico閉鎖はニュースとして価値が高いので、ちょっと英語で投げてみたんだけど、ちゃんとあちこち外国に届くね。

普段から英語でMastodonのことを投稿していれば、fediverseであちこちに届くようになるんだろうなぁ。

あと、彼らは普通にリプライしてくるのがいいね。相手方のタイムラインなんて見ていないので、エアリプされていてもまったく見えないけど、ちゃんとメンションが飛んでくるから対応できる。

終了するモノのなんと多いことよ……

They have been less profitable than before, and have decided to discontinue many of their services.

The closure of Mastodon is part of it.

@nyoki 神輿を一緒に担いでくれた人達には感謝しかないですが、まぁ大赤字を垂れ流している以上、引き際もあるよね。

機動力をもって新しいサービスに飛びついて形にした人達には、また新しい何かが出てきた時に、動ける余力を残しておいて欲しい。Mastodonで消耗している場合ではない。

こちらは、一人一人は頼りないが、皆で力を合わせて連合していくので、あとは任せろ、とw

As is the case with friends.nico, which has been discussed this time, their services tend to form closed communities, and ActivityPub's federation has not been used much.

There were many users of local timelines.

There was almost no cooperation between video sharing service and Mastodon.

I think I did not do well in various ways.

It is a pity that closure is not life-long, but I think it will be better if we try again.

It was the sixth largest in the world.

A company that operates a video sharing site, etc. operated it, but the profit deteriorated and it ended up providing many services.

Closing the Mastoson server is part of that.
